Both are there for a reason and both can be bypassed if the technician wants.
- A timer is displayed on the screen if we detect the end-user is present at the remote computer and disregards the support request. This gives them time to close applications and private documents before sharing their screen. The technician does have the ability to ignore the count down and click Connect now.
- A message notifies you that the end-user is not present at the remote computer and you can click Connect now to initiate the session.
- When the technician ends the session they are given time to add and last minute notes, but they can skip that and click Close to immediately go back to the Devices, or Close and Review which ends the session and takes them to review the recording and notes.

thanks for the explanation which helps me understand the purpose. I would prefer it be the opposite where by default it connects right away but you have a choice before connecting for Connect Now. I may be in the minority here on this one as perhaps many others take advantage of the current default

It's the 2nd bullet point that makes no sense its more clicks for no reason, couldn't we set systems that are always unattended to bypass this screen altogether... It's just extra clicks that aren't needed. I understand the first bullet point regarding if an end user is present, but even that isn't always accurate. Sometimes if the machine is just logged in from a previous connection it will claim an end user is present. However, I think myself and greenbeansys are more annoyed with the 2nd bullet point, its extra clicks for no reason at all
