One speaker goes out when connecting to GoToWebinar
I'm on a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.4) ...signing in as meeting organizer.
Just recently when my computer is making the connection with GTW, my left computer speaker pops a couple times then goes out completely. So when I'm in the program I can only hear out of the right speaker. Others in the meeting say I sound fine so I think my mics are working. Then when I end the meeting and close out my speakers make the popping sound again and then work fine when I play any videos or music in other programs.
It's something in the GTW application start up that is doing this. Is there a fix?

Hi,
I have an update on this issue and why it seems to affect only some Mac users. It appears that some MacBooks have their microphone located very near one of their speakers, this causes issues with the echo cancellation in the audio so it mutes the speaker.

Still an issue! I'm in a webinar right now, listen mode only. It's super annoying.

I always use an external microphone that is a foot to two feet away from my MacBook. Left speaker has never worked for GoTo.

It obviously is a bug because other programs don‘t have that issue. - Reka215 years agoNew ContributorSame problem with my brand new

Thanks. We have several audio engine improvements coming up soon for development. I've set the reminder to look at this behavior again.

Chris Droessler What Mac models are you utilizing there?

Checking in to see if there is an update on this issue. This happens on all of my Macintosh computers. When running a GoToWebinar, only the right speaker works. With all other online meeting/webinar tools, sound comes out of both speakers.

It blows my mind that it's years later and GoTo/Logmein hasn't bothered to fix this super obnoxious problem. At least add a checkbox in preferences! Thanks for the accessibility workaround suggestion.
