Suggestions to improve GoToWebinar

Below are a list of features that would be great additions to GoToWebinar based on past experiences with the software.

  • Add a "Dismiss All" button to dismiss attendees at the end of a webinar. Useful for organizers/panelists who would like to have a meeting to discuss what went well / what didn't immediately after the webinar with no attendees present.
  • Add a feature to manually change the speaker cameras that attendees view. Right now attendees view all speakers camera(s)/ names on their screen by default. There should be a way for organizers to have the option to make attendees view only who is speaking at any given moment or slelect speakers to be viewed at all times.
  • Option to add music/vidoes in the screen attendees view while waiting for the webinar to begin.
  • Option to change the positioning/size of the "feature image" in the branding & colors section of the event details. We should be able to move this image so it appears where we'd like on the registration page.
  • Virtual backgrounds for speakers.

Virtual backgrounds should be a priority

Not sure I agree with "priority". All their competitors seem to have virtual backgrounds, so likely G2W will add as well, but honestly it's so gimmicky and becoming such a distraction.  I was in a session yesterday where a person had an image as if we were in an airport control tower.  It was very busy.  There's was a structure/building "behind" him that seemed to be growing out of his head and his left arm disappeared each time he shifted.

I do think every tool should have the "blur" feature that allows speaker to spotlight his/her image and blur background.

With no doubt limited development resources, there are things I'd like first - for instance, more permission levels, allowing panelists to see all questions without having to make them an organizer.

Re: Suggestions to improve GoToWebinar

Hey all,

Thanks for your feedback here.

We already have many of these suggestions as existing threads in the Community.  It helps if you can separate your enhancement 'ideas' into individual concepts for other users to comment on specifically.  This way we can easily update you on development progress and also weigh the customer value for each idea.

By "individual concepts" do you mean separate items within this discussion (not a bulleted list of ideas), or a separate discussion for each topic?  If separate discussion topic, would you prefer a certain subject format, such as "GoTo Improvement Idea:  xxxxxx"?

Re: Suggestions to improve GoToWebinar

Thanks for asking, Chris.

Individual enhancement requests help us separate and prioritize interest levels among users.

If we could try to do a couple of things:

  1. tag each one with 'idea' (instead of 'question' or 'problem')
  2. as well as keep the titles specific to the feature request

then this helps keep the duplication to a minimum.

@kbourne  You might consider playing a video at the start of your webinar broadcast, and keeping all staff muted in order to simulate some background music or waiting page for them to experience before you begin the presentation.
