Your session may have timed out or the host may have gone offline
The error occurs after opening the dashboard of the remote host using the logmein client software, then trying a remote connection from the dashboard. The remote host says it is in session however when trying to remote I receive the error "Your session may have timed out or the host may have gone offline. Please try again." and offers Reconnect or Close options. The reconnect button causes the same error. It appears to be a problem when first accessing the dashboard. After speaking with phone support they recommend restarting the remote machine, which can't be done until the client is back on site, defeating the purpose of having remote access. I have had this same issue with multiple remote hosts, running different operating systems. Any other solutions? Besides switching remote software providers.
casascoco This could very well be caused by something on the host side, stopping the initial attempt. Please check that there are no pending OS updates. Could you reach out to Customer Support by phone when you have someone at one of the problem PCs to troubleshoot?

Hi Sam15, welcome to the community.
I believe they meant there were pending Windows updates on the host computer.

Do you mean updating the logmein client fix this issue?

It actually was my fault. The version of Windows I was using, on the end-user side, at that moment needed to be updated, and I had not updated.
Log me in support was helpful that when as they were the ones that eventually figured out why was having the problems.
Good luck - nhuthmache3 years agoVisitorI'm having the same problem! it thinks i am still logged in!!!! saying my host comp is "in session" and the customer support was not helpful AT all they kept saying "oh your host comp is offline there is no status that says in session its only online and offline!" This is terrible ..and when you have no access to the host computer, theres nothing you can even do

All I have to say is, UGH. One of the remote pc's I connect to will sometimes make the normal connection. But then will stop. I'm 1000 miles away from the remote pc. The rig is a few years old running windows 10. It makes no sense at all. Was able to log into the pc about a week ago now back to timing out. I will probably be able to login again at some point. There is no rhythm as to why it is happening.
I will not be down to that location for a few months.
This has been happening for a few years, I just haven't followed up on it. Until now.
- casascoco7 years agoActive ContributorSadly, the only fix I've found is a reboot of the remote host.

Just dropping a note to see if there is a fix or an update on this thread. I do not have as many PC's, but I am about 800 miles away from one that I am running into the same problem.
Thank you,
Kevin
- Liam38517 years agoNew MemberThanks @casacoco, restarting the LogMeIn service on the host fixed it for me-- thanks. Obviously not helpful though if you don't have physical access to the host. I hope LMI do something about this.
