Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

I've been talking with support, and the official word now from support is that screen blanking only supports one monitor. They seem to think it's a feature instead of a bug.

If we want it restored to like it used to be where screen blanking scan be used with multi-monitors then we need to make a lot of noise to convince them this is a bug rather than a feature.

Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

Everyone, so many of you are giving the option.  We need to PUSH BACK to LogMeIn.

Are there LogMeIn reps in this community?  Or do we all have to make cases?

Turning OFF blank screen is NOT a fix.  This is a work around or "band aid".  Blank screen is for security purposes!

I know VERY few offices these days that have ONE monitor to blank.

Basically, LogMeIn is saying "don't forget to manually turn off your monitor before you leave every day" as security.  So frustrating.

Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

Agree 100% we have muti use of monitor with out screen blanking. People want to be able to access both screen and have screen blanking enabled for security reasons. This is a bug.

We have a client who has 6 screens. With blanking enabled they show 11 screens and we not able to actually use the machine till we remove the screen blanking, then we get the 6 screens back as before, but this is not suitable as we need screen blanking enabled.  So product does not work as was sold for.

LogMeIn keep pushing prices up and up but system gets worse and worse. Think time to look else where.

Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

For the record -- we've used LMI for > 5 years and ALWAYS had screen blanking available for dual monitors. Worked flawlessly until a Windows 10 update and then there was a message "Windows 10   20?? does not allow the blanking feature" and it was stopped.

Multi-monitor blanking is a basic security feature for many types of work.

Re: dual monitor icon/button missing after update (pro)

This worked for me!!! Thanks- although now everyone at work can see my screen which I don't like hopefully the next upgrade from Logmein doesn't mess things up further.

Thanks for posting!

Users suddenly can only use one monitor...sometimes three! (there should be two)

Starting about two weeks ago, remote users are logging into computers with two monitors attached, but they can only see one monitor. Usually rebooting the host computer solves this, but not always, so I have some users who have two connected, powered-on monitors in the office that can only see one. They click Options > Monitors > and the option to choose Multi-Monitor or All Monitors is not there. If they go into Display Settings on the host computer, both monitors appear.

On rare occasions, a user will have three monitors, which is completely bizarre. They can just disable the third monitor in Display Settings, but it's still really odd that it would happen.

I have a theory that it has something to do with the Screen Blanking feature, but I haven't been able to test that comprehensively.

The host computers are all running Windows 10. The client computers are not managed by me, most are also Windows 10, some are Mac.

@trflmiuser  We are currently investigating multi-monitor issues associated with the new screen blanking ability, where the multiple monitor button can disappear.  Do you know how the affected Host PCs have their displays physically connected?

Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

I don't understand how people in my office are still able to have blank screen on multi monitor but mine only works on single monitor. I've opened two cases and all they say is that the blanking feature is for the principal monitor. How can that be when I used it prior to the update on multi monitor and others even after the update still have that feature??

Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

@wrketk  It may depend upon the type of graphics card / driver set up they have at the Host location.  Some cards are mainly designed for single output.

Re: DUAL MONITOR - OPTION NO LONGER IN MENU OPTIONS

For anyone currently affected by the multi-monitor issues, we have a new version that should resolve them.  Early access is available to download from this secure url: https://www.logmeinusercontent.com/links/0ddcef75e609f4f0183b61081a957fd89

As we finalize the testing, please report back if this new endpoint build causes additional problems.

Thank you.
