For example, I'm away on vacation and I want internal calls to be routed to a someone else in my department but external calls to go to my voicemail. Of course I could set up a dial plan and point my calls to that but it would require the caller to make a selection and it would be more foolproof if it did everything automatically. Call Park On Mobile App Icon Many users that work in offices are not at their desks so it would be nice if you could assign a call park/call park retrieve icon in the app. This is a feature that RingCentral and several other hosted providers have on their mobile apps. I know you can dial a code but dialing *37+the park location is very cumbersome. Re: Differentiate between internal and external calls The steps are: Click on "Directory" Choose "Local Directory" At this point you can create a group and call it "Internal" if you want to have a group for internal calls or just leave everything in "All Contacts" Select the group where you want these contacts to go Click Add You can then enter the information for each user and the number will be their GoTo line number. Other information -- If you add a group, then you can change the ringer sound for the entire group. You can also change it for each user if you wish but you can leave it on "auto" and it will follow the ringer sound of the group it's in. If you don't create a group and put those users in the group then you'll need to make sure that you change the ringer for each user that you add. Re: Call recording access All of those details are great but I was asking for a feature modification in the future so that certain managers could only see specific call recordings for their team and not necessarily for everyone. Now it’s set up so that if you have the permission to listen to recordings then you have full access to every single one that the “company” has. For instance, I have a county that has a tax assessor and she might need to hear the recordings from her department but not have access to the ones made from the sheriff’s office or an inmate phone. There’s no way to isolate which recordings the assessor can hear but that can create some legal and ethical issues. That’s just one example but a regular business could be the same thing where one department manager doesn’t necessarily need to be able to listen to the owner’s calls but the owner should have permissions to listen to everything. Call recording accessThe way it is now a person with access to play recorded calls can listen to everyone’s recordings, but it would be helpful if they could just listen to ones for certain departments or users. I have a customer that is able to do this with their on-premise system and are about to lose this functionality.Re: Ultra Low Usage User You can avoid adding a user for paging if you use multicast paging. Just put a Viking or other paging adapter (Algo for example) that is capable of receiving multicast and connect that adapter to the input of your paging amp. Viking makes a unit that's all in one. It's not officially supported by GoTo but it does work and is very simple to set up. Having something for a loud ringer is a more difficult but some of the Algo units also use multicast for ringing. It's less than ideal. You can get one low usage user and set it up with an ATA and the ATA to a Viking unit that will trigger ringing over your paging. That works very well but it's an extra expense for the customer because of the low usage user like you've mentioned. Re: Search feature for text and chat messages Just last week I had another customer explicitly ask for this feature and said it was helpful in their old texting platform. Re: Differentiate between internal and external calls Another thing that you can do is to create a directory of the internal user and then you can give the directory entry its own ring sound. I've done that for small offices. It's a little more difficult when it's a large customer.
