Bug Report: GoTo Desktop App Stealing Focus Randomly

I just wanted to report a bug with the GoTo desktop app running on Windows 11. I've been seeing this happen for quite some time at least several months now if not even a year or more.

The GoTo desktop app will randomly put itself on top of all other windows and steal focus from whatever I'm in the middle of working on. This happens seemingly randomly, even when no call is coming through, as if the app just randomly decided to refresh itself and needs to put itself in focus and on top of everything, interrupting whatever I'm working on in other windows. This happens maybe 2 or 3 times a day at random times as I'm working on other things.

Naturally this is a nuisance and there seems to be no way I can correct this behavior myself aside from just not using the GoTo desktop app which would be unfortunate.

It would be great if this behavior would stop happening with the GoTo desktop app for Windows.

    Hi wootowl, welcome to the community.

     

    Thank you for reporting this issue. We would like to review the GoTo Connect log files from your computer, please: 

    • Open the GoTo App
    • Click on Help > Troubleshooting > Open log folder
    • Select all of the files can zip/compress them 
    • Email the zip file to GoToService at logmein dot com   

    If possible, please include in the email any of the most recent dates and times you can recall the issue happening, or wait until it happens again before you gather the log files.
