Why can't I share my camera on macOS Catalina?
I'm running macOS Catalina (10.15.3) and I'm not able to share my camera during a GoToWebinar session. In Security & Privacy preferences, Privacy tab, GoToMeeting isn't listed in camera settings pan...

Hi,
If you are seeing GoToMeeting in the Security and Privacy setting of your Mac in the Camera section, please try the following:
- Launch the GoToMeeting software from your Applications folder (if you do not have it installed join our test meeting to install it)
- Click on GoToMeeting in your toolbar to open the menu and then select Preferences
- In Preferences select Webcam, this should trigger a preview of the webcam and your Mac to list GoToMeeting in the Security and Privacy settings so you can give it access

So looking through the replies, this is a continuing issue and GOTOWEBINAR has not resolved it? I have had two events where the presenters could not use their macbooks because gotowebinar would not find their camera and mics. One presenter was using the same macbook which she presented from last year and now it is not working.

Hi everyone,
We have a ticket open with Apple to find out more about their security restrictions, and why GoTo is suddenly not recognized. We should get to the bottom of the blockage soon.

Just had this issue again.
sent a gotomeeting link, the panelist joined that and it immediately solved the problem, no mucking around with the terminal etc.

ANOTHER DAY Another issue! I'm seriously so frustrated with this Mac Issue. Please have someone from GoToWebinar reach out directly.

Hi,
We have had a support ticket open with Apple for this issue, but they are requesting more information from systems that are experiencing this issue. If the work around of opening the GoToMeeting Preferences from your Toolbar and selecting Webcam does not cause the security prompt, please do the following on your Mac:
1. Launch Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app).
2. Enter this command, followed by the return key, at the Terminal command prompt: sudo sysdiagnose
3. Enter your administrator password when prompted (for sudo access).
4. Press return again (or enter) to proceed with the sysdiagnose capture.Note: The sysdiagnose process can take 10 minutes to complete. Once finished, the folder “/private/var/tmp/“ should appear automatically in the Finder and the sysdiagnose file there will look similar to this:
“sysdiagnose_2017.08.17_07-30-12-0700_10169.tar.gz”
Note: The sysdiagnose process can take 10 minutes to complete. Once finished, the folder “/private/var/tmp/“ should appear automatically in the Finder and the sysdiagnose file there will look similar to this:
“sysdiagnose_2017.08.17_07-30-12-0700_10169.tar.gz”Go to https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/welcome to provide Apple feedback about the issue and attach the sysdiagnose file before submitting it. Apple will give you a Feedback ID, if you report that number back to us we will be able to reference it with them as we follow up on our ticket.

I couldn't agree more, We have an annual contract and when that's due for renewal next year, I'm really thinking of moving everything over to Zoom.
It looks as though there's absolutely no development going on with GotoWebinar, whether it's this issue or trying to get people's audio connected, the lack of virtual backgrounds, you name it it's just getting a bit tired and I'm struggling to find a reason to keep with it.
However, try the gotomeeting fix, it seems to fix things when I've done it, gotomeeting seems to work where gotowebinar doesn't and then fixes the permissions with gotowebinar.

I was having the same issue today with a tech check. Nothing on the macbook would fix it. They even has an external mic and that was picked up but not the internal webcam. Why has this been an ongoing issue for years? "Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't make us look silly"

Following AmnonR's brilliant solution, I now have a permanent GotoMeeting room and link set up and the moment somebody can't get their permissions to work, I fire them that in an email they open the meeting and they get asked for the permissions, seems to work every time.
Actually had the Mic not getting permissions this week, camera worked fine.....ho hum. - TrinaWB5 years agoNew Contributor
This sounds like an easy suggestion but with many presenters not being tech saavy, this is a huge issue. They don't know how to log one of these tickets, nor are they that interested in doing so when they are a one time presenter. This is an issue (one upon many) that needs to be resolved.

For those who are still affected by this problem, we request you have your custom gather a system diagnosis right after reproducing the problem, then you can file a report using the Feedback Assistant
(https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/welcome) and include the sysdiagnose.
Instructions can be found here:
https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/profiles-and-logs/?platform=macos
Once you've filed the report, send me the Feedback ID number by clicking my Community name, then send the direct message privately. - AmnonR5 years agoActive Contributor
We have used GoToWebinar for hundreds of webinars over that past months and given the competition out there it's a bit outrageous and unfortunate that GoToWebinar is so far behind on so many aspects including this one (given it does has a few small advantages).
The support for this issue has also been underwhelming. We have just posted this video which we believe solves the issue in about 10 seconds: https://youtu.be/s4-w0pGneic

Hi AshC, thanks for this info!
You may have already posted an update on this in another thread, but do you mind posting something here as well? I'm getting a lot of negative feedback from my mac users and they're starting to just use other software solutions.
Thanks!
