Say I have a sales department in Utah and a sales department in Texas importing shared contacts for the Utah branch doesn't really help the Texas location. Also, I think end users should not be able to import Shared contacts only Private contacts. I think Import should be an admin feature and I think it would role in nicely with the user group suggestion. To where admin or (group managers) can import contacts based on user groups. Or be an option in the admin portal to turn off for end users. I have locations making a mess of this feature in the app (not making contact groups) importing contacts that don't make much sense to be shared with a whole company. I have a hard time getting people to appreciate the GOTO app where I work except the IOS version. I think some adjustments with the contact features would really help. Employee Contact solutions Admin Does anyone have any clever solutions for organizing Employee contacts? This is the issue we run into. We have several stores that have several employees finding people to call or know where a person is located becomes challenging. (New employees, people with the same names) To the point where I went in and changed each user first name to Location-first name then last name. This works but is somewhat of a mess and does not help our users that work remote or have no location. Previous phone systems we have been on we have been able to hit drop downs in the app of locations and then be able select a person off the location drop down. I feel like custom fields in the admin Portal is the fix for this, but I am currently only able to see custom fields that I add for Shared and Private contacts. I can only see the custom field I add to an employee under the admin portal. Furthermore, I think custom fields could be added to the search contact function where if several users have that custom field it shows up in search results. I guess why an option for User Groups available in the admin portal if you can't customize your company contacts like this. Auto Hang up phones when another call comes in. Any know the fix for this issue? I have users calling out to customers they are in a ring group, while they are making a call if someone else calls that ring group that out going call gets hung up on and the newest call notification is shown. Seems like a tricky notification setting. Re: GOTO calling support GlennD I wanted to edit my post because it does not accurately reflect my disposition. Since I have had time to cool off from this poor experience, I am now coming from the perspective of a customer. This issue is difficult for me to grasp When I call my phone service, the customer service representative asks for a callback number in case we get disconnected. Despite this, I have to call customer support three times before I get connected to someone who can actually help me. Each time, I get disconnected and do not receive a callback attempt from the previous representative until I am already on the line with another representative. In my opinion, this is a failed customer support experience. I followed your link and the number provided was the same one I called yesterday. I understand the need for a ticket to assist with support, but I do not understand why almost every time I call support, I get disconnected at some point. It took me three calls within 18 minutes to get a hold of a representative who could assist me. I finally received a callback at 4:15 from one of my previous inquiries. I appreciate your response and your time, but your customers are paying a large amount for an underdeveloped application and a below-average support center. The only positive experience I have had with GOTO support is through this portal which is largely customer based and not employee based (Just you and Katie who do great work) . I feel like that is an issue worth addressing. GOTO calling support How do I legitimately contact Goto support I have a real issue with our phone service and every time I call Goto connect I get put on hold and then disconnected from the call and this happens every time I call support. I have overlooked all of your companies issues because of the updates your company pushes out but if I cannot call customer support and get someone on the line I will be advising my supervisors to go to another service. Does anyone have any solution for this SolvedRe: Organize contacts based of locations rwoolf We have been stuck with the paper directory as well If you have seen the admin portal, they have a section for location so hopefully it's an update in the future. With their new import feature with contacts, I really hope they move toward import based of location as well or give Admin the ability to control what is imported. Because it has caused quiet a mess with our GOTO because locations in different states get stuck with contacts, they have no association with. I like Goto for its up time but would defiantly say I am not 100% happy with the product. Getting a texting number from GOTO This might be a dumb question But I am currently trying to set up texting from our Admin account and we registered what we needed to on our admin side and I can now give access to users to text which I could not previously. The issue I run into the majority of our numbers are landline numbers is there a way to add numbers and select the option of being able to text from that number that I am ordering on GOTOs . Or do i need to buy a number that is able to receive texts and port it over. Thank you SolvedRe: New contact update Thank you for your response, Is that what other companies do that have other organizations? I can imagine that even single locations that are very large do not need contacts shared throughout the company. Do they just connect these locations through Dial plans? Accounting department might have different contacts then sales vs IT vs developers. But all of Accounting might want to share contacts with each other and all of IT might want to share contacts with each other. Do you plan on updating this so that it can be turned off on the admin side? New contact update How are companies recommended to organize shared contacts with locations in different states and different customer basis? Also would be useful to be able to turn this off in admin. Currently having users adding contacts freely and messing up other branch locations contacts. Would be super useful to be able to import contacts based of locations only in admin. Same thing with contacts internally would be incredibly helpful to split up contacts off location and be able to select from softphone. In a company of roughly 200 users I have a quarter using the desktop application because it seems limited on how it can assist workflow. SolvedRe: Organize contacts based of locations KateG You guys in my opinion are so close to having this perfect but not necessarily delivered. Either I am missing the setting or it hasn't happened yet but I am not so worried about grouping contacts that I have put into my account but grouping contact users. I guess I do not understand the purpose of the location setting in GOTO admin if it can not be imported into the desktop app I want to be able to group users that are in my company based of location. We have lots of employees and not everyone knows everyone this would streamline everything, because a lot of my users do not even use the desktop app they just use a hardphone and a directory I send out every quarter. Instead of just a long list of all the companies contacts. It would also blow our previous phone system out of the water if we could import contacts to users based of location or call group. For example one of our company branches only interacts with one type of customer a cvs file with over 1000 users. To get caller ID I had to make a google account import contacts on that account and use the goto integration on each user manually to get this to work for them. But our other 10 branches do not necessarily need these contacts. I think your guys updates have been awesome especially with the headset options and separate softphone on the desktop so I think you guys might be headed in that direction. But some things we run into that would be utilized in our company
