Improve file/directory transfer capability and UI
We extensively use File / Directory Transfer and the files and Directories are different for the different calls. 1) The "Process" is overcomplicated, NOT intuitive, NOT user-friendly and NOT productive. It is a life-important feature. Somehow, in "GoToResolve" it changed from "inconvenient" to a "DISASTER". - It is a productivity "Show Stopper". 2) The GoToResolve Directory Transfer "Process" is overcomplicated, NOT user-friendly and NOT productive. To send a Directory you have to leave the remote Support Session enter password send a Directory(s) and then re-enter password to return to the Support Session plus waiting to continue session or extra clicks to bypass waiting. - A clear productivity "Show Stopper"; 3) Unfortunately the last used directories from the previous session with the Customer are not remembered. Drilling down each time to the required location from "My Documents" both on the Customer and agent side takes lots of time. - COUNTERPRODUCTIVE! 4) Have you resolved an issue with the "Destination not writable" - when the file transfer will crash in the middle of transferring a few dozens of files? 5) For the inspiration could you kindly look at the Norton Commander, Volkov Commander, PC Anywhere, AnyDesk UI's... It is a known issue since the GoToAssist times. Asked the same question 5+ years ago on the GoToAssist Community. The answer was that it is "not a priority". Hope that the USABILITY and PRODUCTIVITY are now a PRIORITY. P.S. Entering content here ends with an error "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied." Had to copy everything to notepad and then back into the form, "Preview", "Post" .1.9KViews16likes6CommentsRemote Execution Step Collection Editing
Currently in GTR, once the step collection has been created, the only option is to delete it, it can not be modified after creation. In order to edit a collection, you must start a new job, add the collection, make your edits, save it as something similar to the existing collection, then run it on one or more assets, for it to save. Then you must go back into Manage step collections and delete the existing collection. The only work around I have found, to be able to save using the current step collection name, is to open GTR in another browser. Create new job, add existing step collection, then go into other browser window and delete the original Step Collection. Then you can save the new collection with the existing name. This could all be prevented it there was an ability to edit step collections under "Manage Step Collections"1.8KViews3likes10CommentsLet clients control the technician's computer during reverse screen sharing
On GoToAssist Remote Support we always had the facility when sharing our own screen with a customer to give them mouse and keyboard control (really helpful when enabling 3rd party suppliers to connect in to our systems to complete maintenance work). Now we've switched over to GoToResolve, I can't see this function anywhere. Do you know if the facility is available?1.7KViews3likes3CommentsRemote Execution Asset Selection Import
When performing a Remote Execution job, it would be great if there was a way to select devices by a list of required devices, rather than one at a time. Whether it be via txt or csv. We frequently use GTR to perform patch management on systems. We populate the list of machines requiring sepecific updates from another 3rd party solution. Then we create the required Job in Remote Execution. Then one by one, we have to select the assets requring the patch. Sometimes there are hundreds of systems. Adding them one at a time is extremely time consuming.1.5KViews1like5CommentsAllow opting out of the gray screen when temporarily clicking away from remote session
It drives me absolutely crazy that when I click away from the remote screen (or even don't click anywhere for a few seconds) in a GoToResolve session that my view of the remote screen grays out and I have to click into it to view it correctly again. It's especially frustrating when I do a demo, because the people attending the demo have to see the constant switching between a normal view and a grayed out view. Please fix this! GoToAssist did not do this, and it was so much better.1.4KViews3likes3CommentsMake the clients cursor visible in session
During the remote session, you need to be able to see your cursor and the remote session cursor. There are times when the cursors are different. For example, if you are use editing a crystal report the cursor on the client side will change to different symbols . With GotoResolve you are unable to see these changes. this makes for a very difficult remote session. GotoAssist has this ability and GotoResolve should too. Also if you have any latency you can see that you are not in the right spot.1.1KViews7likes2CommentsConsole App stuck on "Email verification pending"
Not sure why this is an issue, or what is even causing it, but this only seems to be an issue with the desktop application (not the web app version). I currently run Windows 11 (which I don't think is the problem). I already tried reinstalling the application (and wiping the residual data prior to reinstall), but the issue still occurs. Is this a new bug that hasn't been caught yet? It's been really irritating having to swap back into the browser to use GoTo Resolve.1.1KViews0likes4CommentsSignal Strength Control
We have noticed recently an annoying popup informing us about a 'Low stream quality detected. Click the signal strength to change stream settings.' Several times this appears over the toolbars at the top of the screen and we get frustrated support staff. As this seems to occur on every single connection we make and repeatedly comes up unless you disable the wall paper and set the strength to Low, would it be possible to have a simple function within the user profile to 'Disable stream quality messages'?1.1KViews1like3Comments
