New problem with Malwarebytes

There appears to be a new problem with GoToWebinar and Malwarebytes. During/after my last two webinars, many registrants have said that when they attempt to join the webinar, Malwarebytes gives them this warning about launch.gotowebinar.com:

"Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked this page because it may contain malicious activity. We strongly recommend you do not continue. You may be putting your safety at risk by visiting this site. The Riskware code is 2.0.202310041517."

Does GoTo/LogMeIn know about this? Is there anything they will do to attempt to resolve this issue? Already our attendance rates have declined as a result.

  • geoffwebinar We ran some tests with Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension but were unable to recreate the issue your attendees reported. One of our team also contacted Malwarebytes and the MB team were unable to recreate the issue. The extension may block some tracking but in each test we were able to join the webinar session successfully.

If another attendee reports it happening to them please gather as much information as possible (operating system, web browser, personal or business computer), and if they would be willing to work with us to recreate the issue and capture it in a recording that would be very helpful.

  • Hi geoffwebinar welcome to the community.

This is the first I have heard about this, but I will be checking if any other internal teams have already had reports. False positive reports like this happen from time to time and we will work with the security vendor to correct them as soon as possible. Typically these tools have an option for a user to report a false positive so that the vendor will more closely review the report.
