Long delay after declining to take a call

I am a new customer who moved from the CloudPhone debacle. When I decline an incoming call via the app pop-up, the caller still experiences a delay of more than 30 seconds before being prompted to leave a message. Today, a client expressed frustration with this delay. How can we eliminate or reduce this unnecessary delay? Additionally, could you clarify if there’s a similar delay when I’m already on a call and unable to answer? Thanks!

  • GlennDThanks again for your response. I’m not suggesting changing the general "ring for" time, as the 25 seconds makes sense in most cases. I’m asking whether the system can behave differently when I actively decline a call. If I press "decline call," can the caller be sent to voicemail immediately, rather than waiting the full 25 seconds before the voicemail message and option are presented?

You can edit the settings, just be aware that there is potential for calls to be missed.

    • Sign in at https://nuui.us.grasshopper.com.
    • Select Extensions, then Edit next to the desired extension.
    • Select Edit next to each call forwarding number.
    • In the Ring for field, enter the desired ring time.

  • GlennDThank you for the quick response! I understand it’s important to allow enough time for calls to be answered. However, my concern is when I receive a call and immediately press "decline call." In this case, the system should ideally recognize that action and promptly offer the caller the option to leave a message rather than having them wait 25 seconds before doing so. Can this behavior be adjusted to improve the caller’s experience?
