I've run into an issue that started late last week where I am able to establish a connection to a remote computer using Connect on LAN, however when I try to start the Remote Control Session, it shows the Connecting... dialog for about 20 seconds and then that fails and kicks me back to the previous screen. I can access the File Manager, so I know I have a connection with the remote computer, and nothing has recently changed regarding our network configuration. Hi, I'm a test taker, and I recently was unable to open the LogMeIn Rescue applet (Version 7.50.435) on a MAC computer (OS: Big Sur, Version 11.0). I was online with a LMI support expert for around 2 hours and had to reschedule my exam due to these difficulties. Issue: Whenever I try to run the LMI app, the app's icon briefly appears on my dock then disappears, and never opens. Tried but failed solutions in the presence of an LMI support expert: 1. deleting all application files and re-installing the app (about 5 times) 2. opening the app on desktop, downloads and application folders (each time with a newly installed LMI app and deleting the previous LMI app) 3. changing security & privacy settings to check accessibility and screen recording access for the app (unchecked and rechecked, deleted and re-added for each time I re-downloaded the app) 4. restarting my computer 5. updating my computer 6. Guys I have gone through the posts on here and I see a million explanations on how to make a Mac work with LMI. I get that this is Apple being PITA but what is the fix between Big Sur and M1 computers? My team is having ZERO luck with remotes on Macs throughout the day and we are trying our hardest to honor zero touch options for our customers. I am fairly confident in my understanding of the issue, but I am at a point where I can't get anything to work on Logmein Rescue and no GoToAssist isn't working either! Here is what I know in regards to establishing a remote: - This is exclusive to Catalina and Big Sur. - I usually can do one remote where user checks Accessibility and Screen Recording but then it stays checked and I can't see or control their computer the next time I try a remote. - I have tried deleting all the .apps from their downloads. - I cannot remove the Support-logmein.app from Accessibility or Screen Recording in an effort to work around. - I have tried this script which is ridiculous to ask my customers to do -rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/LogMeIn-Rescue $ rm /tmp/lmi.txt ; CX_LOG=/tmp/lmi.txt /Applications/LogMeIn-Rescue.app/Contents/MacOS/LogMeIn-Rescue >>/tmp/lmi.txt 2>&1 - This has progressively gotten worse and worse. Here's what I know in regards to the Logmein Rescue Console on Mac: - It crashes 100% of the time. - It now wont even open so I had to install VMWare and Windows to get it work. - Its limited in performance compared to PC. - My PC techs are complaining more about it running terrible and crashing. Hello, Remote users are getting a Windows Defender Firewall prompt about the Rescue applet when I start a connection. Hoping you can guide me to a fix. Here are the details... Users have an AD-joined local account with no admin permissions. They download and run the applet with the 6 digit pin as normal. I'm putting in the local admin password at the Rescue connect screen and elevating the session. When that connects, the user gets this pop-up, The path is c:\users\[username]\appdata\local\logmein rescue applet\lmir0f138001.tmp\lmi_rescue_srv.exe So it's actually a different temp folder path for the applet every time. I want to allow both public and private networks - they're working remote and I have no idea what type of connection they are on. I can actually get connected to their screen, but the pop-up is generating questions from the users, and if they hit Allow it goes to their local machine's UAC which I can't see and it disrupts my connecting. So question 1 is what are the firewall rules I want to create? Question 2 is do you have any advice on deploying such rules through InTune in this case where the applet folder is particular to the user? I've had troubles in the past establishing those types of rules because InTune only wants to manage rules for known paths like Program Files and doesn't seem to have a way to vary the path with a local user account. %appdata% resolves to the InTune admin user, not each local user. (If this part is outside this scope I'll take it to a Windows InTune forum once I know the details of the rule I want.) So this is an interesting problem I've been having on one of our CNC control systems. It is a Windows10 system. On this particular machine we have 3 LAN ports dedicated to the CNC controls. 2x Intel i210, one for each motion control device and one Intel i219 for the TCP modbus network. The PC is connected to the internet via a wifi connection, which is obviously how I remote into the system with the Rescue app. When the machine is running, without the remote connection active, we are having data flow issues on the i210 NICs. We are getting some severe stuttering motion due to loss of data. However, when a remote connection is made with Rescue (running as a system service), the problem is resolved. So this is not so much of an issue with Rescue, but a why is it solving my problem and how do I get the system to the same state when Rescue is not connected? In short, what does Rescue do to the Windows system when a remote connection is made? We thought this was an interrupt moderation problem, that has been turned off. Tx and Rx buffers are maxed out on the LAN ports, disabled a bunch of the offloading and flow control. Checked and double, triple checked power settings, everything is set to maximum performance. Nothing should be suspended or shut down to save power. I'm at my wits end with this one and need to find a solution. This is not something I've seen on any of our other systems, I'm not sure what is different. We image all our PCs so they should all be set up the same way. I am able to successfully ping target computers, and I am able to use Remote Desktop Connection to take them over... but this logs out the user in Win10. Other notes: I am using Windows 10 21H1, Rescue Console Version 7.12.3359 (64-bit), Forticlient 6.4.0.1464. Any suggestions on what I should look for? I appreciate any help!MDWyatt4 years agoNew Contributor1.5KViews0likes1Comment- Mike19434 years agoNew Member1.7KViews0likes4Comments
