Uninvited Guests

My colleagues and I have suddently gotten uninvited guests joining our calls.  I may try to start requiring a password.


Anyone else have a reason for why/how people are crashing my (very important and exciting) meetings?


Any downside to requiring a password?

After further investigation, we can confirm that we have no indication that malicious or bad actors were attempting to join your GoToMeeting sessions.  We believe that the activity that you observed was the result of a Microsoft Outlook security feature called Safe Links.


The Safe Links feature is designed to investigate URLs in your emails and test them in a secure virtual environment – it is intended to prevent malicious URL links in your e-mails from causing harm to you or your systems. The result is that, if Safe Links tested a URL in its secure environment, it may have appeared as though an attendee was attempting to join your GoToMeeting/Webinar/Training session.


We are investigating ways to eliminate these occurrences in the future. In the meantime, it is possible to configure your Office 365 instance to whitelist our links and thus prevent Safe Links from activating.
