Connected laptop acts entirely different when lid is open versus closed
I recently purchased an ASUS laptop and added it to our Central account as a device to connect to. Laptop is Windows 11 Home, and it has integrated Intel Xe graphics. No dedicated GPU and no external monitors hooked up to it. The laptop was configured to never go to sleep when on AC power, and power mode was set to performance. The first two days of use had no issues. The lid was closed, and I was able to do my work remotely. Immediately after two days I noticed the following behavior: Some of my Windows programs and folders will either open or not open. File explorer will not show at all. Entirely a hit or miss on what will open. The Start menu will not display when clicked on. I can open a program like MS Edge, but I cannot close it. I can Alt+Tab to see the available open windows to cycle thru, but it will not display the window I want. Here's what happens next... When my laptop lid is opened, all of these windows and registered clicks will then work. Meaning that instance of MS Excel I tried to open or File Explorer will pop up multiple times. Basically, it appears everything decides to "work" once the laptop's lid is open. Before anyone says it's the laptop, I hooked up an external monitor to see if it has to do with the lid being closed at all. I can confirm the issues are NOT repeated with an external monitor. Laptop works like normal. We have a Dell Latitude laptop connected to our Central account, and after turning off all the sleep settings etc.., that one has no issues when the lid is closed. Apps and windows work perfectly fine. It also has an integrated Intel GPU (I forget if it's Xe or an older chip). So, in short, I need help troubleshooting why this is happening when the lid is closed and connected to Logmein and how to make it work while keeping the lid closed.63Views0likes3CommentsCensoring Option for Closed Captioning?
We had the following feedback in one of our recent training sessions using Gotomeeting: "Auro captions need to censor curse words and racial slurs. Some words words misconstrued by the program in the goto meetings" I get its a Beta feature and the auto captioning itself is going to struggle at first (hopefully it gets better over time). But one of our attendees complained about the lack of censoring in the Closed Captioning. As to the "Racial Slur" comment, none of our presenters use any words that are commonly considered racial slurs, so it must be a word that was also mis-transcribed in the Closed Captioning. Unfortunately our survey was anonymous so we cannot provide more info beyond what they said.Solved173Views0likes2CommentsLogmein Client no longer installing along side Control Panel
All of a sudden, for some reason, Logmein control panel is installing, but the client is not. Normally they both install at the same time. I have to run a repair on the install and then it installs the control panel. I am not sure why this all of a sudden started. This is what I use to install the Windows Host LMI start-process C:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe -argumentlist "/I C:\temp\$lmilatest /qn /l*v C:\temp\lmiinst.log SETPOWERMANAGEMENT=0 LMIDESCRIPTION=`"$compname - $compmodel - `" COMPANYNAME=[companyname] ACCOUNTEMAIL=[accountemail] DEPLOYID=[deployid] SHOWCLIENT=0 SHOWCONTROLPANEL=0" -waitSolved1.9KViews0likes7CommentsRequest failed with status code 500 on WebTC
When trying to close or Hold a session on the WebTC I get the "Request failed with status code 500" error appear. When trying to hold or end the session on this installed client (tried on two separate PCs) the application hangs and will not close the session. All TCs state that the connection is active but it is crazy slow to respond (although it does after a long time when using file manager .... just). How can I close this session?238Views0likes1CommentKeystrokes suddenly stop appearing on MacOS to Windows 11
I am using a MacBook Air, OS Ventura13.2.1, w/bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth mouse to connect to aWindows 11 desktop. I have the LogMeIn client downloaded on my Mac and access my host computer through the client installed on my Mac. The keyboard will suddenly stop registering keystrokes. The same issue has happened with three keyboards - two Bluetooth keyboards and the integrated keyboard on my Mac. The problem is most frequent in Word in Office 365. I will begin typing and suddenly the text will stop appearing. Ctrl shortcuts will not produce the actual shortcut, but will type the letter (e.g., ctrl + c will not copy, but will type a lowercase c). I can edit the document using the copy, paste, replace, find, etc. buttons. This sometimes kickstarts my ability to type, but then the text will stop appearing shortly thereafter. When I exit the application and reopen it, the problem still exists. In other applications (specifically Notepad and Outlook), the text will stop appearing and it will appear as if the window is "unselected." Once I "select" the area where I am typing, the text will start to appear again. If I press Ctrl twice, it will trigger the dictation on my Mac.Ctrl + Alt + Delete does not function at all. The on-screen keyboard does not show that any buttons are stuck. My keyboard mapping is set to use client layout, the keyboard and mouse are locked on the host computer, and the keyboard and mouse are set to user priority.1.9KViews0likes8CommentsErratic behaviour when controlling Windows 11 machines
I can't be the only person to have this issue, but I will detail it as though I am... I use LMI for Mac (v 4.1.7905) to control a number of different Windows PCs, and have done since around 2004 when controlling my personal PC from my work computer in the office. Currently, I use LMI to control Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines and the former still works properly and without issue. However, EVERY Windows 11 machine I control has problems displaying the "Start" menu, viewing popups for security control, etc, and just generally being quite awkward to use. Does anyone else have this issue, or not? Thanks Ant1.3KViews0likes5CommentsRecording link did not show up in follow up emails
HI, Yesetday the follow up email to those who attended and those who did not attend our webcast did not include the link to the recording. We've presented over 475 webcasts, so we know how to set the system to automatically include the link. This was not user error. Also, the html links we add in the message are hot (hyperlinked) in the email message on PC and Mac, but not on mobile. We have successfully used LogMeIn Antivirus for a year on many Windows 10 Pro computers; however, I just installed it on several new Windows 11 Pro computers. The program appears to install and the policies seem to apply correctly; however LMI Central is not getting updated information from the computers. The Windows 11 Pro computers show successful installation. Scans are running as scheduled and the firewall turned on (although I have since turned it off for testing). In Central, the anti-virus software column says "Unknown", the real-time protection column says "Disabled", and the virus definition column says "Out-of-date." I have changed the LMI AV policy to turn off the firewall and have also disabled the Windows firewall as requested by LMI support. I enabled logging in LMI Control Panel and uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled LMI AV and sent the debugging logs to LMI support. So far they keep saying it is a firewall issue but don't know what to suggest to fix it. The log says "Error (in recv): An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" and "Error (in send): An established connection was aborted by are in your host machine." I feel it must be something unique to Windows 11 Pro. Does anyone have any idea what needs to be changed on these computers to get them to report properly to LMI Central?Solved2KViews0likes6Comments
